Sesame seeds have a rich, nutty flavor and are used in many different dishes. Sprinkle on fish before broiling or baking. Sprinkle on chicken before roasting. Add 2 tsp. to batter for fried chicken or fish. Mix 2 tsp. into 1 lb. ground beef for hamburgers or meatballs.
Sesame is one of the oldest known crops to be cultivated by man. It is a hardy plant that grows well in many environments that cannot support other crops. Sesame will even grow under drought conditions. During harvest, the imperfect seeds are sorted out and used in sesame oil production.
