Thyme is also known as German thyme or garden thyme. It is native to southern Europe and the Mediterranean region. The ancient Greeks, Romans and Egyptians all used thyme for various purposes. Thyme is a culinary herb but it also makes a good ground cover plant for gardens and landscaping.
